The 2023 Astronomical Society of Australia (ASA) Annual Science Meeting will be jointly hosted by Macquarie University and CSIRO. It will be held at Macquarie University's Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde in Sydney from Monday July 3 - Friday July 7, 2023.
Like many countries around the world, the Australian astronomical community is emerging from a period of isolation, both globally and nationally. The 2023 ASM theme will be “Our Connected Community”, placing emphasis on re-establishing the bonds within the existing ASA community, and fostering connections with recent and future members.
While we hope that 2023 provides an opportunity for many of us to meet in person, all sessions will be offered in hybrid mode. A key focus of the 2023 ASM is to maximise the benefits of in-person attendance, whilst still delivering an equally valuable experience to those who wish to join remotely. The 2023 ASM will assign a significant fraction of scheduled activities towards interactive sessions that will bring the community together in ways that will foster interaction.
We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land upon which Macquarie University is situated, the Wallumattagal people of the Dharug nation, whose cultures and customs have nurtured, and continue to nurture, this land, since the Dreamtime. We pay our respects to the Dharug people and the Wallumattagal clan. We also wish to acknowledge the Elders of the Dharug nation, past and present, and pay our respects to them.
We thank the following institutions for sponsorships and contributions:
